Detailed Side-Wall Chimney Installation
Detailed Side-Wall Chimney Installation
The proper installation of the chimney is critical to insure adequate draft for the INOV8 waste oil furnace. The ultraviolet sensor used in this burner will cause a shutdown if smoke, fumes or ash generated by poorly burning waste oil accumulates enough to restrict the view of the flame. The stack must be installed the proper distance above the roof line to avoid down drafts. Insufficient chimney height or excessive turns in the flue will decrease the draft to such extent that the furnace safety system will cause a safety shutdown. Also, make sure the flue pipe connected to the furnace can be easily removed & swung out of the way for ease in cleaning.

Oil Storage Systems
Oil Storage Systems
Many operational problems can be eliminated if proper care is taken in setting up an oil storage system. All waste oil contains substantial amounts of water and sludge, both of which settle to the bottom of a tank over a period of time. A storage system that allows sufficient settlement time will provide trouble free operation. A two-tank system is recommended allowing one tank to settle while drawing from the other. A one-tank system will work, but the floating oil pickup assembly, that is supplied with the INOV8 furnace, must be used.

Bench Tank Setup
Bench Tank Setup
Bench tanks are available in sizes ranging from 280 gallons to 500 gallons. Our standard is a 300-gallon tank with steel supports, which holds the INOV8 furnace 8 feet above the floor. Installations using the bench tank are easier than those without the tank because of the ease in mounting the furnace versus hanging and the short distance for running the oil supply line. The bench tank comes fully supplied with all the necessary fittings for a complete installation. Many states and cities have additional regulations regarding the storage of waste or other fuels which may require stricter measures. It is very important to check with your local fire inspector, or proper authority, or a qualified tank installer regarding the requirements in your area.

The following four items must be adhered to throughout the installation and ongoing operation of the INOV8 furnace:
  1. This furnace is listed for commercial and/or commercial use only. It cannot be used for residential or any other unauthorized purpose.
  2. This equipment is tested to UL Standard 296A (the U.S. waste oil standard), to Canadian Standard Association, standard B141.4 by Underwriters's Laboratory of Canada and is listed with the European Economic Community with a CE registration number 3884/97. This product is approved to burn the following fuels: crankcase oils, gear box oils (85 - 140 wt), up to 175 wt heat transfer oils, transmission and hydraulic oils, vegetable oils, and oils with up to 10% gasoline. DO NOT attempt to burn other liquids without checking with INOV8.
  3. The assembly, installation, adjustment and maintenance of this equipment must be done by an INOV8 certified (or otherwise qualified installer), in accordance with the instructions in the furnace installation manual, and in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations regarding environmental control, fuel storage, fire and electrical standards.
  4. The INOV8 equipment must be operated to the settings established in the furnace installation manual and display on the furnace.
